Guys, I could go on and on and be absolutely crazy in my rantings about how wonderful these automatons are. They write all their own music and lyrics along with coming up with ideas for shows PLUS they do improv and miming that's not quite miming! lol
I've been a fan for about a year now. I saw them perform at last year's Anime Conji convention and I was immediately in love. Since then Upgrade (the girl robot) has moved on to pursue some of her own projects. The current SPG still has The Spine, Rabbit, & The Jon along with their human Mr. Reed and a drummer for plugged in shows, Samuel Luke.
I had the chance to see them plugged in at the Clockwork Vaudeville stage show a couple of weekends ago and I was completely blown away. It was for one nite only so I'm so so glad I didn't miss it. They took us on a trip with a time machine and *squee* it was amazing. The guys are so funny and the more they perform, the better their voices and music get!

It's taking me a couple of hours to write this post because I'm sorting through all the links I have and I get caught up watching. It never gets old and my heart races every time I hear them! Maybe I need to just point out a few links and stop trying to talk! lol
If you also have extra time, I'd recommend checking out THIS interview with David Bennett (The Spine) at the Game Night Guys blog. He talks a little bit about how Steam Powered Giraffe formed and some of their inspirations. You also have the chance to win Album One, their first cd, but hurry because the contest is only until March 5th.
If you don't feel like you're lucky enough to win, their music is available for purchase on iTunes and Amazon or you can get an actual cd from their website. They *just* released a new single called Honeybee that will be on their second cd they are currently working on.
My dear favorite readers, if anything, go to Amazon and listen to the previews for their cd. It's so incredible and different. Let yourself just relax and listen and be taken to a totally different world. Use your imagination and join in their adventures.
Don't forget to check out their website and read about the pseudohistory of the bots, look at the purty webcomic that Rabbit is working on and find them on Facebook to request they visit your city!
Now, after all that, who's your favorite robot? lol Everyone has a favorite so don't say you don't know. I'll give you a cupcake* if you guess my favorite. Yes, yes, I love them all but I can't help but have a favorite. Have some music that you love that's just a little bit out of the ordinary? Did you happen to see Steam Powered Giraffe on a visit to San Diego? Tell me ALL ABOUT IT in the comments!! <3
*cupcake is not a real cupcake. it is a cupcake that you can imagine i baked for you. it even comes in your favorite flavor & toppings! enjoy!
